HOW TO MEASURE FOR CURTAIN POLES

Always use a metal measuring tape when taking the measurements.

When replacing curtain poles, measure the width of the existing pole, rather than the window. This ensures that the new pole will fit properly within the space and align with any existing brackets or supports. Additionally, when measuring poles, excluding the finials (decorative ends) from your measurements is important to ensure that the pole fits accurately within the space designated for it. This helps avoid any miscalculations that could lead to the pole being too long or too short for the desired curtain arrangement.

Measuring a window for a pole

Measure the window width and add at least 15cm or 6 inches for each side. The suggested pole length is the window width plus 30 cm, or 12 inches.
